Starting from the south end in Port Refrew our first day began with a short orientation session from Parks Canada followed by a quick ferry ride over the bay to the trailhead.
It was a steep and long descent down many ladders to our first campsite.
What goes down must go back up. Back up the ladders to get back on the main trail awaited us in the morning.
With the tide out we descended from the forest to do some walking along the coastal shelf.
We chanced upon this small canyon close to our destination for the day and took the opportunity to rinse some sweat off.
More ladders, bridges and our first cable car crossing rounded out our second day on the trail.
We took some spare time to explore Camper Bay and found some interesting things.
Many wood features presented themselves today as we made our way along the trail.
This sequence of ladders connected to a suspension bridge high above a steep walled canyon. Hope you’re not afraid of heights.
We passed through some interesting terrain along the way to Walbran Creek, the days destination including the bog like area below.
Nothing like a morning wade to start your days hike.
