Fall Adventures

Making the most of the slow season.

Story by Patrick Hui September 27th, 2015

Skywalk Trail

The newest hiking trail in Whistler offers a close encounter with rapidly melting glacial remnant. The helicopter was there to pickup a family who had arranged alternative transport back to the valley, including their dog!

Mushroom picking

A friend and I went in search of elusive matsutake mushrooms, alas we only found but one. Many other forms of fungus were observed amongst the beautiful fall colours.

Pumpkin patch

Picking out your pumpkin is a yearly rite for those that are fortunate to live in proximity to a farm. North Arm Farm is just up the highway from where we live so a visit was in order.

The Knuckleheads cabin

Powell River is fortunate to have many easily accessible backcountry cabins in the area. This trip was to one located in an area known as the Knuckleheads. Equipped with a wood pellet stove it made for a warm and cozy one night trip.

Keyhole Hotsprings

Late fall (early winter from the looks of it) trip to the local hot springs. Chilly day so we had them all to ourselves.
